The District of Jangaon came into existence on 11.10.2016 with (13) Mandals (on auspicious day of Dassera) and comprising of (193) Revenue Villages.
The District Prohibition and Excise office headed by District Prohibition & Excise Officer, Jangaon was established vide G.O.Ms.No.255,Dt:11.10.2016 as part of Re-organisation and Re-structure of the department consisting of (03) Stations namely, Jangaon, Ghanpur & Palakurthy

Regular inspections and raids are conducted on A4 shops and 2B Bars and booking cases when ever found violations (i.e., MRP violations, Swapping, Dilution, Non Maintenance of Account registers, Timing violations, Non Production of Nowkarnama.)

Toddy Tree Tax – The Tree Tax has been included in the Rental and the entire tree tax has been collected.
- EXGRATIA TO TODDY TAPPERS
Ex-gratia: As a welfare measure the department is sanctioning the Ex-gratia to the tappers injured/died while tapping the trees. As per guidelines issued in G.O. Ms. No. 164, dt. 14.07.2017, the applications for sanction of ex-gratia should be submitted to the District Proh. & Excise Officer concerned within a month of accident. The District Collector is competent to condone the delay in filing application up to (30) months. After personal enquiry of the application for ex-gratia, the District Proh. & Excise Officer should submit the note informing the facts of the case to the District Collector for sanction of ex-gratia for death, permanent disability and temporary disability. The District Collector may sanction ex-gratia of Rs. 5,00,000/- in death case and permanent disability case and Rs. 10,000/- in temporary disability case.

- D.CRIME:
Earlier huge Illicit Distilled Liquor is being manufactured and sales were there in Jangaon Town and almost all villages. But, after the District formation great efforts have been put into controlling/Eradicating various Excise Crimes with the help of Police, Revenue,Village Associations, Mahila Samakhyas along with programmes like Rallies,Wall Writings, Wall Posters etc., and daily regular raids are conducting at suspected villages and thandas to control the crime. Culmination of all these efforts has resulted in the District of Jangaon being declared I.D Free District on 02-06-2017 by the Chief Guest Sri. Boda Kunti Venkateshwarlu (Government Chief Whip) through Hon’ble District Collector, Jangaon.

ROUTE WATCHES:- There are few strategic places were identified to conducting route watches for vehicular checking to curb the inflow of illegal IML/NDPL, I.D. Liquor in to the Jurisdiction.
Gudumba Effected Persons Rehabilitation Scheme ( GEPRS ):
The Govt. of Telangana Vide G.O.Ms.No.216, Dt:23.03.2017 implemented a programme of Rehabilitating the persons who were involved in Selling/Preparation of Gudumba. Under this Scheme a total of (138) beneficiaries have grounded with various schemes like Diary Units, Kirana Units, Automobiles etc. Amount Sanctioned ( 2.76) Crores

- GANJA :It is submitted that at present there is no cultivation of Ganja in the Jangaon District whenever there is information regarding cultivation / illegal possession raids are being conducted and cases are registered by SHO concerned. The Station House Officers are taking steps to control the inflow of Ganja in to Jangaon District. Identification of sensitive points is done for control of inflow of Ganja across the interstate borders and streamlining the functioning of check posts to prevent inflow of liquor by way of effective co-ordination with the officials of border strength. Intelligence teams have been formed to identify the transportation/ possession / sale of Ganja in the Jangaon District, where ever noticed cases have been registered.

Conclusion:
The Following Instructions are being issued from time to time to all the field officers for control of crime as mentioned below.
To chalk out a plan of action and conduct raids, route watches and inspections on all suspected I.D. prone areas/Worst places / suspected places for effective control of main crime of Gudumba with local station staff and in co-ordination with neighbouring station staff, DTF staff and Enforcement staff. The Station House Officers to keep close watch on Habitual Offenders and to take necessary steps.
To conduct regular train checking’s by forming special teams inco-ordination with the staff of RPF/GRPF for control of transportation of I.D.Liquor / Black Jaggery/NDPL and Dry Ganja.
To bindover the suspected persons U/s 110 or U/s 109 CRPCs and to put breach cases for control of Excise crime. Identify the fit / habitual offenders to detain under P.D.Act in the jurisdiction concerned.
To search all the Kiranam shops/General stores and inspect the records being maintained by the jaggery merchants in respect of supply and selling of jaggery to the consumers whether bills are being issued and to conduct Regular inspections on sensitive storage areas i.e., slum areas, Old Godowns, rice mills and abonded places to found storage of Black Jaggery, NDPL, Dilution of Liquor, Adulteration of Toddy and Dry Ganja etc.,.
To analyze the Off-take figures and access the reasons for low Off-take and to ensure to achieve the given targets.
To inspect all the Permit Rooms to see ensure for running as per rules and to conduct regular Inspections and to checking the functioning of CCTVs & Recorded Clippings. And Conduct Regular inspections to control the Consumption of Liquor in Public places/In front of Shops.
Instructions are being issued to the A4 Licensees not to cause disturbances for the general public and not to sale the liquor in bulk liters and also maintain the MRP Rates, keep persons for good arrangement of Vehicles in the parking area and regular meetings were held with the Licensees for strict implementation of A4 shops Rules.
The Station House Officers should maintain close coordination with their counterparts of Police, Revenue, Railway authorities, DRDA and Panchyath Raj departments would focus on improve the performance on enforcement work.
