Rural Water Supply and Mission Bhagiratha:

The RWS&S Department deals with water supply released works in Rural Habitations of Jangaon District. The Department will execute the works like Constructions of OHSR’s, Laying of Pipeline, Drilling of Borewells, fixing of Pumpset . The Department comprises with on section officer in each mandal called as Assistant Engineer/ Assistant Executive Engineer, who monitors the supply of potable water in co-ordination with village Secretary /Sarpanch in every constituency of respective habitations (Gram Panchayath). In every Constituency one Deputy Executive Engineer is deployed to supervise over the section officer and to monitor the Drinking water schemes

Activities :

1.Mission Bhageeratha (Grid & Intra village):

Under this scheme the drinking water facility is provided for 610 habitations. Rs.840.00 crores has been sanctioned under main grid for construction of ‘21’no.’s Balancing Reservoirs and ‘1284.03 km’ main grid pipe line had been laid all over the district for ‘Bulk water supply’.

An amount of Rs.212.73 crores has been sanctioned for laying of ‘intra village’ pipeline for 1211.76 kms, constructions of 443 OHSRs and 129847 Tap connections. Total 443 OHSRs has been completed and 1211.76 Kms of pipes has been laid in the habitations.

2.SDF 2019-20 (Palle pragathi)

Under this grant (61) Nos. of works has been sanctioned for providing water supply to nurseries and cremetorias with an estimated cost of Rs.90.44 Lakhs and all the works were completed. The Expenditure incurred on the above works is Rs.71.49 Lakhs.
